The notification for the IBPS RRB examination 2019 has been released by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection on 14th June 2019. IBPS organizes IBPS RRB exam every year for the selection to the post of both Assistant and Officer Cadre in Regional Rural Banks all over the country.

IBPS RRB conducts Common Written Exam to fill the positions of Group A Officers (Scale I. II & III) and Group B Officers (Office Assistant for Multipurpose posts). In Officer Scale – I, vacant posts for Assistant Manager are filled through the exam. In Officer Scale – II, posts are filled for General Banking Officer and Specialist Officers such as Chartered Accountant, I.T. Officer, Law Officer, Marketing Officer, Agriculture Officer and Treasury Manager. In Officer Scale – III, the post of Senior Manager is filled.

IBPS RRB 2019 Exam Pattern

Exam pattern for post of Office Assistant and Officer Grade are quite different. Let us have a look on all exams one by one.

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2019 for Office Assistant (Clerk):

For IBPS RRB Assistant 2019, exam will be conducted in two phases:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination
  • No Interview process will be conducted for selecting candidates to the post of Office Assistant. Selection of a candidate is done on the basis of marks obtained by him/her in Mains Examination.

IBPS RRB Exam Pattern 2019 for Officer Grade (Scale I):

For IBPS RRB Officer Grade post, exam will be conducted in three phases:

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination
  • Interview process

The final selection will be made for selecting the candidate for the post of Officer Grade is done on the basis of cumulative score obtained by candidate in both Mains exam and Interview process.

  • All exams will be conducted through online mode and will be of objective type.
  • All sections except English Language & Hindi Language will be bilingual.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every answer attempted wrong by a candidate in IBPS RRB 2019 exam.

Eligibility Criteria for IBPS RRB 2019

To be eligible for IBPS RRB 2019 Exam a candidate must check the eligibility criteria before applying online for exams which he or she  must fulfil.

There are 3 parameters on which candidate must fulfill the conditions to apply before IBPS RRB 2019:

1.Citizenship

3. Educational Qualification

The Citizenship Criteria for the candidate to be eligible for IBPS RRB 2019 is as follows:

A candidate applying for IBPS RRB Examination must accomplish one of the following:

  1. A citizen of India or
  2. A subject of Nepal and Bhutan
  3. A Tibetan Refugee who came to India for permanent settlement before 1st January 1962
  4. Person of Indian Origin who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries of Kenya, Zambia, Zaire, Uganda, Ethiopia, Malawi and Tanzania with the intension of permanent settlement in India.

Candidates belonging to the categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) from above shall be person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the government of India.

Age Criteria for IBPS RRB Exam is as follows:

For Officer Scale-II (Manager) Above 21 years – Below 32 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 03.07.1985 and later than 30.06.1996
For Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager) Above 21 years – Below 40 years i.e. candidates should have not been born earlier than 03.07.1977 and later than 30.06.1996

The IBPS has given certain age limit relaxation for various categories, which are as follows:

The Educational Qualification for various Positions of IBPS RRB is as follows:

Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture / Horticulture /Animal Husbandry / Veterinary Science / Dairy Science / Agriculture Engineering / Fishery Science/ Pisciculture / Agri Marketing & Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics or Accountancy: (ii) Proficiency in local language as prescribed by the participating RRBs (iii) Desirable: working knowledge of computer
3. Officer Scale II (General Banking Officer- Manager) 2 Years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having degree in Agriculture / Horticulture /Forestry/ Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Agriculture Engineering/ Pisciculture / Agricultural Marketing & Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
4. Officer Scale II (Specialist Officer-Manager) 1 Year in the relevant field (A) IT Officer Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in Electronics/ Communication/ Computer Science/ Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Desirable: Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP etc.
1 Year as a Chartered Accountant (B) Chartered Accountant Certified Associate (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
2 Years as an advocate or should have worked as Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for a period of not less than two years (C) Law Officer Degree from a recognized University in Law or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.
1 Year (in the relevant field) (D) Treasury Manager Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized University/Institution
1 Year (in the relevant field) (E) Marketing Officer MBA in marketing from a recognized University
2 Years (in the relevant field) (F) Agricultural Officer Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/Diary/Forestry/Animal Husbandry/Veterinary Science/ Agriculture Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate

Officer Scale III (Senior Manager) Minimum 5 Years experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidates having degree/diploma in Banking Finance/Marketing/ Agriculture / Horticulture /Forestry/ Animal Husbandry/ Veterinary Science/ Agriculture Engineering/ Pisciculture / Agricultural Marketing & Cooperation, Information Technology Management/ Law/ Economics and Accountancy.
