SSC Stenographer – Exam Date Result Eligibility

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) organizes SSC Stenographer Exam every year to select candidates for the post of Stenographer Grade C (Group B, Non-Gazetted) & Stenographer Grade D (Group C, for different ministries/ organizations & departments in government of India).  The official notification for the SSC Stenographer 2019 Recruitment has been released on 20th September 2019. With the release of notification, the process for the recruitment of SSC Stenographer 2019 for Grade C and D has started.

SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2019-20

SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2019 – Exam Pattern

The SSC Stenographer 2019 examination comprises of the 2 different levels i.e., Online MCQ Test and Skill Test. The first level contain Grade C and D exam that comprises of MCQs and is conducted online. Second level exam is conducted to test your skill sets in various domains.

Points to be noted:
  • Question paper will consist of Objective Type Multiple Choice questions. The paper will be set in Hindi and English except for Part-III.
  • Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong attempt will be deducted.

Details of SSC Stenographer Skill Test

  • Candidates qualified in the examination as prescribed by the SSC will be called for Skill Test. Here, Commission will fix the qualifying standards in the Skill Test for different categories of candidates.
  • The candidates appearing for the Skill Test in the Stenography will be given one dictation in English/ Hindi for 10 minutes at the speed of 100 words per minute for the post of Stenographer Grade ‘C’ and 80 words per minute for Grade ‘D’. The matter will have to be transcribed on computer.

Points to be noted:
  • Candidates opted for Stenography Test in Hindi will be required to learn English Stenography and vice versa after their appointment, failing of which, their probation may not be cleared by appointing departments. Candidates have to work as English/ Hindi Stenographers as per functional requirement of the office irrespective of the medium of Skill Test of candidate during the examination.
  • The Skill Test will be held at the Commission’s Regional/ Sub Regional Offices or at other centre as may be decided by the Commission.
  • Other details of the Skill Test will be sent to the respective candidates by the concerned Regional/ Sun Regional Offices.

SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2019 – Exam Syllabus

The major sections of syllabus to be covered for SSC Stenographer Computer-Based Exam include General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, and English Language & Comprehension, followed by a Skill test. It is mandatory for students to know the entire syllabus in order to prepare effectively for SSC Stenographer 2019.

The Admit Card for the SSC Stenographer 2019 Exams will be released after the application process for the same has ended. The Admit card for Skill Test will be issued to candidates who qualify CBT exam of SSC Stenographer 2019 exam.

SSC Stenographer 2019 – Results & Cut-Off List

The results will be declared by the Commission when each phase of exam is completed. The results for the CBT Exam will be declared first followed by the final result (CBT + Skill Test). The merit List will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in Mains exam. The Cut-Off list for SSC Stenographer 2019-20 will be declared once the results for the same have been announced by the SSC of India.
