How to Apply for IBPS Online Examination?

What is the Examination Pattern and Selection Procedure for IBPS Exam?

Preliminary Examination and Main Examination are two exams which are to passed to appear in the interview process for the selection in the government banks. IBPS Preliminary Exam is Objective in nature while IBPS Main Exam is Objective and Descriptive in nature. Interview is conducted for all Officer Level Posts except Clerical Jobs. IBPS PO Pre – Exam Training 2019

IBPS PO PET is a kind of orientation session arranged by Nodal Banks or Participating Organizations where candidates belonging to SC/ST/Religious Minority Community are provided with guidance about type of questions, common mistakes, tips for time management, basic tricks, best practices and strategies by experts from training institutes.

Objective: The main aim behind this Training program is to provide training to students from weaker sections that can’t avail coaching and make them aware about common aspects and recruitment process of the exam. 

Note: The Pre –exam training is the free of cost with other expenses like travel like travel, food and lodging to be borne by the candidate.

This is generally conducted for five days before the exam and the dates are announced on official website.

IBPS PO Exam 2019 Eligibility CriteriaExam Pitara

  • Educational Qualification:

Candidate must complete the graduation degree in any discipline – B.A., B.Com, B.Sc, B.Tech or any other from the University recognized by the government of India. A candidate having equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Central Government is also eligible to apply for this exam.

The candidates must be in possession of a valid Mark sheet/ Degree Certificate indicating percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering for the IBPS Bank PO exam.

  • Computer Literacy:

Practical Computer knowledge is must for the job as well as to appear in the Online IBPS PO exam.

  • Language Proficiency:

Verbal and Written proficiency in official language of the State is necessary. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the language.

  • Nationality/ Citizenship of Applicants:

A candidate applying for IBPS CWE/ Bank PO Examination must accomplish one of the following:

  1. He or She must be a citizen of India
  2. Subject of Nepal and Bhutan
  3. Tibetan Refugee who came to India for permanent settlement
  4. Person of Indian Origin who migrated from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Zaire, Ethiopia, Malawi and Tanzania with the intension od permanent settlement in India.

Note: Candidates from category 2, 3, 4 must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Govt. of India in their favor.

  • Age Eligibility:

Any candidate applying for the IBPS Common Written Examination for Bank PO should not be less than 20 years and not more than 30 years of age at the time of registration. However, government has made some rules for age relaxation for candidates on category wise as below:

New Exam Pattern for IBPS PO 2019 has been released. IBPS PO Exam will be conducted in three phases i.e. Preliminary, Mains and Interview Process. It is mandatory for candidate to clear each level of examination to get selected for the Probationary Officer Post in various multiple Public Sector Banks. Students are directed to go through the IBPS PO Exam Pattern to gain exact idea of the exam.

  • To pass in IBPS – PO Preliminary Exam, it is necessary to clear the cut-off in all 3 sections to qualify for the IBPS PO Main Exam. Those candidates will be shortlisted for Online Main examination.

**Recent Changes in IBPS PO Mains Examination 2019

  • Descriptive Paper Introduced: IBPS introducedDescriptive Paper in its Main Examination where candidates will be judged on their written skills. An essay and a letter constituting 25 marks will be given to candidates to write in a stipulated time of 30 minutes.
  •  Time allotment for each section has also been changes.
  • Reasoning is included in Computer Aptitude section which will contain 45 questions of a total 60 marks. This means no separate paper will be conducted for Computer Applications.
  • Last but not the least, the overall timeframe for IBPS PO 2019 Mains Exam is also changed from 140 minutes to 180 minutes.
  • IBPS PO Interview Process 2019:

Candidates who qualify for the Mains Exam are finally called for the Interview Process by IBPS.

Maximum Marks Interview Process consists of 100 marks
Minimum Qualifying Marks 40% for candidates belonging to the General Category
35% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories.
Penalty for Wrong Answers 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong question attempted by a candidate in IBPS PO Preliminary exams and IBPS PO Mains Exam.
No deduction will be done for the questions left blank/ unattempted by a candidate.
Final Selection Cumulative Score of Mains and the Interview Process will be considered for Final Selection of the candidate in the ratio of 80:20 respectively.

A merit list will be generated after the interview process and the candidates who selected in the list will be thus offered the Joining Letter by the Bank of their choice.
