Educational Qualification required for RRB Candidates

RRB Exam Syllabus and Pattern

Fire Service Branch: Candidate should have passed Intermediate/Higher Secondary (10+2) with the required subject Science and Sub. Officers Course or equivalent Diploma in Science.

For Sub-Inspectors: Between 20 to 25 years
For Constables: Between 18 to 25 years

Exam Syllabus and Pattern

Sub-Inspectors in Executive level and Fire Service: The selection for these posts will be essentially set on three-stage process where physical fitness as the main key. The three stages are:

  • Physical Fitness
  • Preliminary Efficiency Test
  • Written Test

The specified candidates can apply with physical fitness that starts with height, weight, etc. add to the selected position and it will take up the Preliminary efficiency test. Candidates qualifying the 2nd stage will take up the written test and apply for the exam. The syllabus for written test is given below:

  • General Knowledge: 100 marks time limit (1 hour)
  • Objective type questions on past/current affairs, History, Geography, Hindi, Mathematics, and Science.
  • General English: 50 marks time limit (1 hour)
  • Questions for English Grammar, Precise Writing, Correction of Sentences, Annotation of selected Paragraphs/Poems and more.
  • Essay Writing: 50 marks time limit (1 hour)
  • Essay on English/Hindi in 300 words.

For Constables: The participation allowed for three-stage process and also physical fitness as the main key. The three-stage process is mentioned as under:

  • Physical Efficiency Test
  • Written Test
  • Viva Voice/Interview

The candidates clearing and applying the physical fitness will always be called in participation for written test and candidates clearing written test will be called in for Interview.
